When Should My Child Have a Dental Exam?

Early care is important. Every child should have their first dental exam between the ages of six months and one year or once their first tooth comes in. This will help our dentist monitor the development of your child’s teeth and diagnose issues related to growth and diet and habits such as thumb-sucking or pacifier use.

Toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents should visit our office every six months, or as recommended by our dentist. Every age and stage of care comes with its own treatment needs. We will help your child’s teeth grow strong and healthy, and help them enjoy a beautiful smile for years to come.

What Can My Child Expect During Their Checkup?

When you visit Cascade Kids Dentist for your child’s next checkup, you can expect a fun, kid-friendly office! We offer a children’s play area, video games, Disney Plus, flat-screen TVs, and other amenities to make your little one’s time with us as pleasant as possible. Be sure to ask about our convenient weekend scheduling availability, so your child never has to miss school because of an appointment.

Once your child’s checkup begins, our friendly dental team will perform a cleaning to remove plaque and polish their teeth for a brighter, healthier smile. Next, we will perform a thorough dental examination to check your child’s teeth, gums, and tooth alignment. We will also take digital X-rays as needed. Digital X-rays emit up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-rays, making them a safe and effective diagnostic tool.
